How SEO writing can help your business grow

Nothing should ever be left to chance.

Let’s say you’ve invested loads of money into your small business’s Website. Let’s assume this small business Website looks great and contains tons of great information about your products and services. Let’s consider your small business Website’s content is not written with search engine optimization (SEO) in mind. All of a sudden you’ve just turned an A+ Website into a C- because a majority of your customers won’t find it. SEO is the catalyst that drives your customer to your Website to inform them about your unique products or services. Without a quality SEO campaign, you might as well place your store smack dab in the middle of the ocean where no one will find it!

Why SEO is good for your Business

It’s more than likely that in our current digital age, your large or small business has a Website. SEO is simply a way of marketing your Website to your chosen demographic of people surfing the World Wide Web. For instance, you can choose industry keywords and phrases that are relevant to your business and use these with repetition to improve your Website’s ranking in a search engine. The higher your Website moves up in the search engine results, more people will find it instead of your competition. This creates branding and helps you outsell your competitor.

How is Quality SEO Accomplished?

Two ways. The first is finding a quality Website design company that specializes in SEO. The second is letting your Website design company implement strategic keywords throughout your pages so that your Website moves up in the search engines. A reputable and knowledgeable Website design company will use these keywords and catch phrases – that relate to your industry and geographic location – to help your business grow.

Think of this scenario from a small business owner. Let’s say you’re a daycare provider located in Detroit, Michigan who offers affordable infant care. The Web design company who builds your clean Website design will carefully write your text using the keywords “affordable infant care” and “Detroit, Michigan”. This is because you need to anticipate that customers will enter keywords such as “affordable”, “inexpensive”, “cheap”, in conjunction with “infant care” and “Detroit, Michigan”. Plus, let’s say this small business owner wants to target new business elsewhere in Michigan. The professional Website design company can insert keywords such as “Northern Michigan”, “Eastern Michigan”, “Central Michigan”, Western Michigan”, “Southern Michigan” or even “Lansing, Michigan” throughout the text so that this daycare provider reaches a larger target audience outside of Detroit, Michigan.

As you can see, an SEO campaign will help your large or small business’s Website get found by a larger target audience. When this happens, you have a much greater chance of successfully making a transaction with your customers.

How To Grow Your Business With Content

What kind of taxes should you expect to pay for the sale of a portion of your business?

This was an existing business which you came in and were given a share to help it grow. You received no pay while growing the business.

You can expect to pay taxes on the profit from the sale of the business. In your case, the shares were given to you, so whatever you receive will be profit. If this is only a few hundred dollars, pay the taxes on it, and move on. If it’s a significant sum, be sure to get professional help. There may be legal ways for you to avoid taxes on at least a portion of the profit. I suggest a good CPA and more particularly, one who is familiar with the type of business which was sold. In most cases, your having received no salary will have no bearing on the taxes due from the proceeds of the sale. But again, be sure to obtain professional help. I have a small amount of knowledge, but I’m not a tax expert.
