successful ebay business model
I’m looking to buy a BMW 3-Series?
I want to buy a 1999-01 3-series BMW. I don’t know much about cars or BMW’s, but I would like to learn. I’m sixteen and looking to spend no more then 10,000. Don’t let my age fool you though, I am very successful financially with my own lawn service and eBay business.
In your opinion what models should I be looking at?
Also I would like to know is the greater the liter engine, the faster? For example would a 318i be slower than a 328i?
Thanks in advance!
Hi Steve.. ![]()
I’m 42…Let me tell you my BMW experience..
In 1995 I fell in love with and bought a 1986 325ie…Two door, straight 6, 2.7 liter…That baby turned on a dime and had just as much power as the 8 cylinder Camaro I traded in…I looooooved that car…I drove it for 10 years…It had 350,000 miles on it when I finally sold it and was still running great, but it was rusting out…
This was when gas prices were sky rocketing and I bought a brand new Honda Civic Hybrid, PIECE OF CRAP.
I decided after 11 months of owning that tin can with wheels that I needed my Bimmer back…I researched on the internet and boiled it down to about half a dozen cars…The last car on my list was an ’01 325xi, all wheel drive…That’s the baby I bought, steel blue, stick shift, all wheel drive…You know hardly anyone makes a rear wheel drive vehicle anymore ? I hated that stupid Honda and that was the main reason I hated it…I just couldn’t get used to the front wheel drive…
My ’01 325xi is a 2.5 liter compared to my old 325ie’s 2.7 liter…The newer 2.5 liter actually has more power than the old 2.7…I don’t know how BMW does it !
And let me tell you this…Last year during an ice storm, THAT CAR SAVED MY LIFE.
What you DO need to worry about is repair costs…I’ve had the 325xi for just over 2 years now and it’s never caused me a problem until about 2 months ago…In the last 2 months this car has cost me 2k in repair bills ! I love the car, I really do, but I’ve been cussing it for 2 months..lol
Do your research Steve…I’m sure you’ll make a wise decision and make sure you buy one that’s old enough that you can make repairs from junkyard parts…That’ll save you a fortune..
