Starting My Own Business
Planning On Starting Your Own Business? Read On
A good business plan is the foundation upon which a business idea stands and upon which a business is built. Time and effort spent on drafting a business plan helps prevent a lot of headaches and possible failure in the future. It’s an essential tool for business startups as it can help when applying for loans, looking for business angels or a business partner. This document allows your intended audience to see if your business idea truly has potential.
If you are a law graduate who plans on starting a law firm, your business plan should still consist of the following: company description, product or service description, market, marketing plan, financial management plan, and business management plan. As always, the company description section should clearly state the ownership and the legal structure of the organization. Followed by sections on your business model, product and services offered and how the revenue flows in.
The section on market strategy should have a thorough analysis of market, pricing strategy and competitors. Even those who plan on starting a law firm need to provide a well-laid out marketing plan. For instance, if you want to be a Memphis accident lawyer, you have to conduct a SWOT analysis of other practices that have a similar specialization.
The next section should be on finances. It should discuss how you aim to monetize the business, how to acquire startup capital, where the money will be spent, what will be the projected revenue and time to break even. In the management section, you need to outline all the background and relevant experience of the main members of your management team.
The business plan is only one step to starting your own business. Carrying on with our example, starting a law firm is easier than say starting a manufacturing business, because the initial investments are small. Still, you have to complete the required formalities needed to start your firm like filing articles of incorporation and business licenses. Make sure you locate your office where it is convenient for the majority of your clients. In the beginning, focus on the marketing. For instance, if you are Memphis accident lawyer, you can place an ad in your State’s Bar Association publication. Having a website is a must these days, make sure you have a good web presence.

starting my own business

starting my own business
I am 14 years old, soon to be 15. I have come from a family of entrepreneurs. My dad for example owns a bug recycling company. I like the idea of being independent and your own boss. I really want to start my own business.. any ideas?!
i meant big not bug!
If you come from a family of entrepreneurs, you probably already know this but just in case…
The only way to make money is to provide people with a service or a product that is needed or useful. So start brainstorming ideas about what people need/want. Then you have to increase your value in being able to provide those needs. You may be limited by your age so think in terms of service in the community. Does any one need help walking their dog? mowing the lawn? cleaning etc.
You are on your way. Being an entrepreneur is the only way to become wealthy in this country.
