Do I need an LLC before establishing an online business?
I would like to start an online business but have not obtained a business license yet. Make absolutely need to obtain a license before starting an online business?
You should really think through a few things before starting a business. First, never start a business without written plan. I know it sounds like a pain in the neck now, but the work of one day and can make the difference between success and failure in a year or two. When you write your plan, you must think about the structure of your business. At minimum, you need to have your own business – go to your county office and have a simple form to complete. It is cheap in the archive. An LLC is a great travel smart. Are taxed the same as sole proprietor, but eliminate the personal liability of being sued for something. An LLC is also better for loans, etc. to develop. A license, however, is something entirely different. A commercial license is required (usually by the state) if doing business in a regulated industry. You should talk to a business lawyer to determine if you need a license or not. Hope this helps.
