Need advice on vinyl cutting equipment for small side business?
I am considering a small side business doing vinyl cutting for window decals, signs, etc. and need advice. I do not at this time plan to do large jobs. I would like to also be able to cut reflective vinyl. Is there any online resource on what machine would be best for my needs. I’ve spent most of the morning surfing the net and have not found much info. I would also like to know of any other uses I might be able to use the cutter for to help pay for it. The software graphics program I’m most familiar with is CorelDRAW. I did work at a computer laser engraving shop for a few years but we did not do any vinyl.
if you talk to most vinyl suppliers they will be able to help you. they have second hand plotters and new ones that are top quality. i also use corel draw if you have anything corel draw 10 or older you will be able to use a program called sign tools which is on the web it is very good for shadows outlines and easy set up for cutting. it is a tough business a sign company so you will have to work hard as there is a lot of sign companys out there, but as long as you are friendly quick and supply a good service you will be fine. i hope this helps
