Do you have any words of encouragement (or tales of caution) to anyone about to start my own business?
I am a woman home with a baby in nine months and I'm about to start a bookkeeping business from home (I graduated in accting and the experience of ten years). I'm pretty scared, but determined. My goal is modest, at about 10-12 billable hours per week. I have not yet chose the software, a laptop or a personal computer dedicated to the company, but I want to do basic accounting, payroll and accounting (Marketing for small businesses that may not be able to ap ton or help pay for full time but I can use to their needs me.) I would appreciate any words of wisdom you have, the resources (online sites, etc.), software recommendations!, or books that help in this endeavor. I read books from Nolo guideline on Starting My Business. Thank you very much! 
It is a viable business. The question is to find clients. Many small businesses need help and you can outsource accounting. QuickBooks is a very common platform is used. Go to Craigslist and Job and click on part-time jobs ETC sometimes concerts and see if you find a list of what type of work. It is very common see requests for 1 or 2 days a week (once a month) to help accountants. The most common request I get the aid and reconstruction QuickBooks account. Good luck!
