I come from a family of doctors and dentists so I have very little exposure to the business world…
Economics interests me…I am going to a top ranked liberal arts school and was planning to become a doctor or dentist…because of the freedom of being your own boss, etc…i like that stuff…
if i get my bachelors in economics what is the next step..obviously get an mba or something of the like but how hard is it really to get a 6 figure salary in the businessfield from a liberal arts school…
what would my starting pay be…what are the different jobs I can start out with….I only know of consulting, and finance…and i guess managers…but after I get my mba from a top 30 b school what can I expect my salary to be!

You are seriously going to have a hard time getting six figures in the business world in today’s economy where all of the businesses have gone or are going out of business…
There is a glut of EX six figure businessmen at the moment…
You are MUCH better off going into the health field.
Tens of thousands of qualified, experienced businessmen have been laid off and are trying hard to get jobs in their fields. I really dont think thats the correct path for you to take.
Also, what you learn in business school will be outdated by the time you get your mba… The world economy is changing too rapidly atm… Everyone is struggling hard to come to grips with what the new economy is going to be like… businesses are dropping off the face of the earth at a rate unheard off… Not trying to discourage you…. but atm, NO ONE knows how its going to work out.
